ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that enhanced media connections between Pakistan and Iran will further reinforce and consolidate the already ‘strong relationship’ between the two neighbours.
In a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost here, he said that the media could be an effective tool in promoting people-to-people contacts and to remove ‘misconceptions’ between the two countries to build better understanding on matters of mutual interest.
The minister said that Pakistan highly values its ties with Iran and considers it as close friend as both the countries share common history, religion, culture and heritage which bind the two countries in friendship and brotherhood. He emphasised the need for exchange of media delegations so that both the nations could learn from each other’s experiences and best practices.
The two-way cooperation in the field of media, information and culture also came under discussion during the meeting between the minister and the ambassador. Both the dignitaries reiterated their resolve to further enhance bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran for mutual benefit of the people of both the countries.
